West Castle Alpine Monitoring System
Located within the valley of the West Castle Watershed, adjacent to the CMR staff accommodations and IT rack-room, stands a 50 m radio communication tower, which is owned by CMR, and maintained through Tough Country. The sensors, datalogger, and enclosure are fixed to the tower, with mains power and WAN access hardwired to their respective ports in the adjacent IT rack-room. The station records, incoming and outgoing shortwave solar radiation, net incoming/outgoing longwave radiation, precipitation (via tipping bucket), wind speed and direction, relative humidity and temperature at 3m,6m, and 9m.
